49ers Enterprises has to make Leeds United force a £10m+ departure windfall at Elland Road

With Marc Roca on loan from Leeds United, 49ers Enterprises may now see a significant boost in their efforts to turn a profit on the player following yet another strong showing for Real Betis.

The Spaniard was a regular member of the team that was demoted after joining the club for £10 million from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022. Last summer, he went on a season-long loan to Real Betis in La Liga.

Roca has relished his loan stint at Betis this season, emerging as a pivotal and indispensable player under Pellegrini. In 19 La Liga games, he has scored three goals and provided two assists, and rumours of a permanent move in January are already starting to circulate (Marca, 2 January).

On November 25, the Spanish news source Fichajes.net revealed that the Whites hope to make a big profit on Roca’s services. The amount mentioned in the article is larger than the £10 million Leeds paid to sign him to Betis.

Marca revealed on January 2 that Betis is holding off on buying Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca until 2025 because they have a “bullet in the chamber.”

In the unlikely event that the Whites are not promoted to the Premier League this season, Roca‘s loan might be extended through the 2024–25 campaign.

The La Liga team intends to hold off on buying the midfield player until then, when he will only have a year remaining on his contract [Transfermarkt]. However, they are aware that, should Leeds United be promoted, they will need to spend a lot of money in order to attempt and secure his permanent transfer.

But, considering Roca‘s recent performances in Seville, 49ers Enterprises, the owners of Leeds United, will undoubtedly make sure Betis pays the full £10 million or more for his services. They have every right to, as evidenced by another strong performance on Saturday (January 13), when Pellegrini’s team overcame Granada in the closing moments.

Twelve minutes from time, the former Real Madrid star Isco scored the game-winning goal with an assist from the Spaniard, who was positioned at the centre of midfield for Manuel Pellegrini’s team.

Marc Roca

Spanish-language news source As the game went on, El Desmarsque could not contain their joy at Roca‘s growth and impact, praising his “complete” midfield display.

They stated: “He showed bravery to come back from an early pass error and finish the game as one of the team’s finest players. Vital to the objective of enabling Isco

It is becoming increasingly clear that Roca is not a horrible player, but rather isn’t particularly well-suited to thrive in the Premier League as he continues to excel not only in La Liga but also in European competition.

The former Bayern Munich player has demonstrated that when a player moves to a far more comfortable and settled environment, he can thrive, as the Leeds United loanee has done under Manuel Pellgerini‘s trust and direction.

Roca has been fantastic in his time in Spain this season, and Saturday’s triumph was another stunning and polished game from the Elland Road loanee, who may well see his price tag increase with each solid performance.

That can only be excellent news for Leeds United, who are willing to sanction a permanent sale for the Spaniard, who appears to have no intention of returning to the club.

And the club’s American owners must demand a handsome exit profit of roughly £10 million. Even if not from Real Betis, it is possible to obtain it from another interested party.
