Micky van de Ven and James Maddison react to yesterday’s Tottenham news.

Destiny Udogie has signed a new contract with Tottenham, and James Maddison and Micky van de Ven are overjoyed for him.

Spurs have had a lot of positives since the start of the season. Ange Postecoglou’s system has brought out the best in many players, the most exciting of whom is arguably young Udogie, who has been incredible.

Udogie Destiny

Micky van de Ven and James Maddison react after Destiny Udogie signs a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham signed Destiny Udogie from Udinese for an initial fee of £15 million last year (Sky Sports).

The Italian was loaned back to Stadio Friuli for a season, but since his return, Udogie has been one of the Premier League’s best left-backs.

likened him to Patrice Evra.

At left-back, the 21-year-old has been a breath of fresh air for Spurs fans. He is quick and excellent on the ball, and his attacking runs have helped Tottenham become such a dangerous team.

Daniel Levy and company were quick to offer Udogie a new contract to protect his value after noticing his performances.

The Italian has now signed a new contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2030, which is fantastic news for Spurs fans.

Excellent news for Tottenham.

Tottenham fans rightly criticise Daniel Levy, but he deserves credit for securing Destiny Udogie’s long-term future.

Daniel Levy

The Italian has the potential to become one of the world’s best left-backs. He’s only 21 years old, and under Postecoglou, he’ll only get better in the coming years.

We’re sure big clubs would be interested in luring Udogie away if he only had a year or two left on his contract. Tottenham are in a very strong position now that he has been tied down until 2030, and they are unlikely to lose him for a small fee.
