Report: “Exceptional” ace jets to England as Spurs eye possible swoop

He has the potential to break both his division’s and his club’s records for the most costly move.

Tottenham Hotspur have been deemed “big” competitors to sign one club’s “exceptional” star, who is currently in England.

Spurs make January transfer plans
The north Londoners have made no secret of their ambition to bring in new faces next month, with boss Ange Postecoglou confirming that Spurs are working hard behind the scenes on January acquisitions.

“It’s challenging, [but] the reason [we want to do business early] is obviously where we’re at injury-wise and the players we’re going to miss,” Postecoglou told Standard Sport last week.

“We have some important games in January, and signing someone late in the month may mean they aren’t able to make an impact in those games.”

“We’re pushing hard, but all parties must agree.” Other clubs, particularly if it’s players they want to keep, will seek to keep them for as long as possible in January for their own reasons.

ROONY BARD

“It is a challenge, I get that, but everyone at the club is working hard to get the best outcomes for us and we’ll see how it goes.”

Spurs are in discussions to recruit Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice, who is reported to be the club’s main priority next month. Meanwhile, Postecoglou is thought to be interested in adding another midfielder and forward to his squad (The Athletic).

Many wingers have been connected in the previous month alone, including Juventus’ Samuel Iling-Junior and Matias Soule. According to reports, Tottenham are interested in both Iling-Junior and Soule ahead of the January transfer window, although Swedish wonderkid Roony Bardghji is also on their radar.

The 18-year-old has already made a name for himself in the Champions League after scoring against Manchester United in FC Copenhagen‘s historic 4-3 win over the Red Devils earlier this season.

Samuel Illing-Junior

He’s been dubbed the “Swedish Messi” and is considered one of his country’s brightest talents right now, with recent reports claiming that Spurs had held talks with Bardghji’s agents (90min).

Copenhagen is reportedly ready to approve his sale next month, despite the fact that he will not leave Denmark until the end of 2023/24.

Spurs are now “big” suitors for Bardghji.
According to Danish news site BT, who provided an update on Bardghji’s position, Spurs are “big” competitors to recruit the teenage winger, who is now in London.

It is unknown whether his visit to England is tied to any possible transfer, with Chelsea also keen to sign him.

SAMUEL

The teenager’s likely departure is worth keeping an eye on, since BT reports that he could smash the record for any prior Danish Super League transfer.

“He has a good understanding of the game, as well as good balance and coordination,” stated Roger Franzen, his coach at the under-17 level for Sweden (via The Mail).

“With the ball at his feet, he has exceptional technique.” It’s quite difficult to get the ball away from him. He is effective one-on-one and possesses a strong shot. He can shoot with both feet, and while being mostly left-footed, he can finish with either.”
