According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United teenager Finley Gorman has signed a deal with Manchester City.
On Sunday (24 December), the journalist revealed via his personal X account that he turned down three bids from Premier League clubs to sign the deal.
On Friday (22 December), Romano claimed on X that the 15-year-old attacker had passed his physical at Manchester City.
“Understand Finlay Gorman has signed the contract as new Manchester City player from Leeds United,” Romano wrote in an article for X. “2008 born top talent turned down 3 bids from Premier League top clubs to join City.”
These are exciting times.
Given what the future holds, this is an exciting time for everyone involved in the transaction, including the athlete himself.
Manchester City can also be pleased that they have added another great young player to their squad, as the Etihad club already has a plethora of top young players.
Finally, Leeds may be pleased of themselves for assisting in the development of the adolescent and getting him to a Premier League behemoth so early in his career.
Gorman‘s hard work will only begin now, as the kid will need to show himself at Manchester City in the coming years.
And if he does, the rewards will be substantial, with Pep Guardiola demonstrating his willingness to offer young players ample opportunities to shine on the game.
The agreement can also serve as motivation for any other young Elland Road talent, with a trip to the big time not being out of the question.
