One Nottingham Forest player blows Morgan Gibbs-White away during the win over Newcastle.

Following Chris Wood’s hat-trick against Newcastle, Morgan Gibbs-White was all over Nottingham Forest’s striker.

The Reds overcame a goal deficit to win the Premier League by a commanding three points.

In the January transfer window of 2023, Wood signed a contract with Forest for approximately £15 million. Although Nuno Espirito Santo joined the team, the 32-year-old has now scored four goals despite not always being regarded as a fixture in the squad.

Forest really needed this victory. They hadn’t defeated Aston Villa since November, and their recent performance has caused them to fall closer to the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Upon Forest’s victory, Gibbs-White commends the striker.

The armband was worn by Forest captain Gibbs-White in Espirito Santo’s second game in command. He set the bar high with a commanding performance that included four crucial passes.

He and Wood were interviewed after the game as Forest embraced the accolades for their work. Gibbs-White did not waste any time in praising the hero of the moment for his efforts.

At Forest, Wood needs to now aim for consistency.

With Taiwo Awoniyi sidelined due to injury, Forest must make sure its goal scorer remains healthy. In his absence, the 32-year-old has stepped up with style, and long may that continue.

Wood’s performance today wearing a Forest shirt was commended by Stuart Pearce. He was pleased to hear Gibbs-White commend him for his poise, and he was impressed by it as well.

As of right now, Wood has seven goals for the 2023–2024 season. He is obviously a man in form, and for the rest of the season, he hopes to continue scoring goals.

Fans consider Awoniyi to be the best striker in the league after he scored 11 goals in the previous campaign. But now that Espirito Santo is supporting the striker, the Nigerian may have to fight to regain his spot if Wood continues to score goals for Forest.
