Reports: Spurs are ahead of their London rivals in the quest to sign the 23-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur are currently showing more interest in Conor Gallagher than their London rivals, West Ham United, according to The Athletic.

Spurs Web has received a slew of claims in the last two weeks claiming that Chelsea are ready to cash in on Gallagher and utilise the proceeds to acquire a top-tier center-forward (Daily Mail).

Tottenham are reportedly keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old’s predicament, with Ange Postecoglou being a great fan of the England international (Fabrizio Romano – Daily Briefing).

We reported last week that Spurs could face competition from West Ham and Manchester United for the Chelsea star’s signature.

Chelsea intend to earn a’significant amount’ from Gallagher’s transfer next month, according to The Athletic, although the Blues‘ £40 million valuation of the England international may deter buyers.

According to the report, both West Ham and Tottenham were interested in the midfielder in the past, and the Lilywhites in particular are keeping a close eye on the issue.

Tottenham would not let West Ham or even Manchester United beat them to Gallagher. Postecoglou identified the 23-year-old as a target in the summer, and I fully anticipate Spurs to pay £40m or whatever Chelsea demand, despite the fact that the midfielder only has 18 months left on his contract.
