According to a journalist, Spurs will only move for Conor Gallagher if one condition is met

According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, Tottenham Hotspur will only pursue Conor Gallagher if Chelsea’s asking price reduces significantly.

The journalist backs up what we’ve heard from other sources by reporting that Ange Postecoglou wants to bring in three new players in January: a centre-back, an eight, and a winger.

Conor Gallagher

According to Law, filling all three jobs in January may be tough for the Lilywhites and would likely be contingent on outgoings.

Speaking specifically about the midfield issue, he believes Postecoglou‘s chances of landing a number eight are likely to hinge on Spurs‘ ability to offload Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Spurs will only recruit Gallagher if one of their midfielders quits.

Conor Gallagher

The journalist mentions Tottenham‘s earlier interest in Gallagher, but claims that the North London club were unwilling to meet Chelsea‘s £50 million asking price for the 23-year-old.

He adds that unless the Blues drastically reduce their asking price for the England international, a move across London to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is out of the question.

Spurs Online Opinion

I firmly anticipate Postecoglou to insist on bringing a midfielder (preferably Gallagher) through the door before allowing Hojbjerg to leave.

With Sarr and Bissouma due to travel to AFCON and Bentancur still on the sidelines, the Australian cannot afford to lose another body in the middle of the park.
