Leeds attempted to sign the 22-year-old in the summer, and his Premier League loan might now be terminated

Leeds United were looking for a left-back in the summer but were unable to find one other than Sam Byram – and Luke Thomas was a player wanted by manager Daniel Farke.

Despite making 24 professional games for Leicester the previous season, which resulted in relegation, the 22-year-old was permitted to go. He eventually elected to go on loan to Sheffield United.

But not after Leeds attempted it. Indeed, we discussed bringing the left-back to Elland Road, with Farke pinpointing the left side of defence as an area that needed to be strengthened. Byram has been outstanding.

However, he suffered another injury and was forced to leave the game against Birmingham after only 20 minutes. Junior Firpo took his position and contributed two assists in Monday’s 3-0 win over Wayne Rooney’s team.

Farke has conceded that he needs a left-back this month, and Thomas may suddenly be available. According to the Telegraph, despite starting 11 of a potential 17 Premier League games, his loan might be terminated.

Leeds sought Luke Thomas, who may now be available again.

He played 90 minutes in the Blades’ most recent game, but it was the first in six games since Chris Wilder took over as manager. Wilder may let him go in order to bring in another player on loan in January.

Thomas stated after joining Sheffield United that he selected the Blades since they were in the Premier League. However, even he may concede that he has to join a Championship club in January.

With Leeds interested in the summer and still looking to fill the vacancy on the left, with Thomas potentially available, everything is possible. Would Leicester, on the other hand, be willing to bolster a direct Championship rival?
