A Premier League team is preparing to unload a £15 million Spain international who would be ideal for Leeds United

With the January transfer market in full force, Leeds United’s need for a left-back was emphasized again on Monday when Sam Byram was sidelined again – and Wolves could just help Leeds out.

In the 3-0 win over Birmingham City, Byram, 30, suffered another injury and was replaced by Junior Firpo. A player who has been hampered by injuries during the last few years at Leeds.

Sam Byram

The former Barcelona man shined for the Whites, putting on two assists for goals scored by Crysencio Summerville and Dan James. However, Leeds still require a left-back. Daniel Farke has stated as much.

Wolves may have just given Leeds the perfect signing this month in the form of Spain’s Jonny. The veteran lefty is still only 29 years old and is on the outskirts of Wolves, who are eager to sell.

According to The Telegraph, Wolves are willing to let the £15 million signing go permanently after five years at Molineux. In 107 Premier League appearances, he has 10 goals and 10 assists.

Leeds should move as Wolves consider selling Jonny

A three-time Spain international in January. Jonny will be remembered by Leeds supporters after scoring a spectacular goal against us in our 4-2 win at Molineux last season, only to be sent off for a clumsy challenge on Luke Ayling.

Nonetheless, Jonny is a proven Premier League player who is still in his prime. A player with the talent to earn many caps for Spain and play 221 times for Celta Vigo in Spain.

It’s unclear how much he’d cost and whether he’d be interested in moving to Leeds. However, Leeds require a technically proficient, aggressive left-back. Jonny would be an excellent addition. He’ll probably go soon.
