Following their relegation from the Premier League, Leeds United lost a number of well-known players throughout the summer.
Elland Road saw the departure of notable players in the summer, including Tyler Adams, Rodrigo, and Luis Sinisterra. With the January window still open, another high-profile player may soon depart.
In fact, Rudy Galetti claims that Leeds and Everton are now having active talks over Wilfried Gnonto‘s transfer to the Toffees.
This transfer rumour circulated during the summer on several times, and it appears that it is here to stay.
Naturally, Everton currently has Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds, and it appears that they may soon be adding another Whites player to their roster.
After such an amazing season the previous time around, it feels weird to say this, but Leeds most likely won’t miss Gnonto all that much if he does leave.
The Italian appeared to regress over the last few months, despite being excellent in the Premier League the previous season.
With just one goal and one assist in the league this season, he’s not exactly having a significant influence, and he’s not exactly starting for Leeds on a weekly basis either.
Regarding Gnonto at Everton, if this goes through, it will be fascinating to watch how it turns out.
