Steve Nicol responds to Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumors, claiming that he would not even improve Manchester United

Steve Nicol has expressed amazement that Eric Dier may leave Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich during the January transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur

According to sources, Eric Dier has conducted negotiations with Bayern Munich about a move to the German giants.
The Bundesliga club already has Tottenham‘s phone number after completing a big-money signing for Harry Kane in the summer.

If this transaction goes through, it won’t be as significant because the 29-year-old has six months left on his Spurs contract.
While Liverpool icon Steve Nicol recognizes Eric Dier as a top player, he believes his lack of mobility and speed will cause him problems in Bayern‘s system, according to ESPN.

The dynamic defender has only played 198 minutes of football under Ange Postecoglou, and it’s evident the new Spurs manager doesn’t like him.

When stand-in center-back Ben Davies suffered a hamstring injury, the Australian stated that he could cope without Eric Dier.

Spurs’ options at centre-half have been limited this season due to injuries and suspensions, but it appears that Eric Dier may still be on his way out despite this.

Eric Dier plays for Bayern Munich

“I am shocked Bayern Munich are interested in Eric Dier,” he stated. “Does he intend to play?” Where will he be playing? “How will he perform?”Listen, Upamecano hasn’t had the best of luck lately. But, at the very least, he can run and recover. Eric Dier, for example, is incapable of running. The idea is that if you play him in the middle of the pitch, he won’t be able to move quickly enough because teams break on Bayern Munich. None of this assumes Eric Dier, your defensive midfielder, can deal with it.

“That’s why I’m making the face and wondering ‘why?’ – if they told us he was going toManchester United, we’d say ‘there’s no way he’s going to make Manchester United better,’ so how does he fit in at Bayern Munich?”

“None of us believe Eric Dier is a bad player.” That is not what we are saying. But what we’re saying is that the work he’ll have to undertake for Bayern is above his abilities. When he was at Tottenham, he was in a defensive squad (under Conte and Mourinho), so he had guys around him.”

Eric Dier requires a new beginning.

People should remember that Dier has 49 England caps and has played 364 games for Spurs, including the Champions League

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

He can play right back, center half, or in the middle of the field. In that way, his qualities are limitless.

Yes, things haven’t gone as well for him this season as he would have liked, but he is still at the pinnacle of his powers.

There is no reason why he can’t perform the job for Thomas Tuchel, who would have seen a lot of him while he was Chelsea manager.
