Brennan Johnson hasn’t had the best of starts since joining Tottenham.
The £50 million signing was Tottenham’s biggest of the summer, but he has perhaps been the least significant this season.
While Johnson isn’t making much of an impact right now, Spurs officials believe he has the potential to be a superstar in the future.
Indeed, according to Alasdair Gold, who spoke on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Tottenham staff believe Johnson has the potential to be a devastating player if everything comes together.
Johnson can be wonderful.
Gold revealed everything he knew about the attacker.
“From what I understand, Postecoglou is a huge fan of his; he believes he’ll be a fantastic young player. Yes, the price was high to get him out of Forest, but there was a sense that they were purchasing a player whose finest years were ahead of him. Brennan Johnson is still figuring out his best position and developing aspects of his game, but there’s a feeling around the team that he could be really deadly if everything comes together,” Gold said.
Has what it takes.
Spurs’ staff believe Johnson will be a star, and it appears like he has what it takes to succeed at this level.
Yes, he faltered at Spurs, but he possesses so many wonderful raw qualities, like as his lightning speed.
Let’s not forget that he scored double figures for Nottingham Forest last season, and in theory, if he regains his confidence, he should score buckets in a Spurs team that creates more chances than Forest, with all due respect, could ever hope to create.
Johnson might be a wonderful player for Spurs for many years to come.
