Leeds may have given West Ham a sly message on social media ahead of their ‘imminent’ bid for Wilfried Gnonto

Leeds may have sent a sly social media message to West Ham ahead of a ‘imminent’ offer for star Wilfried Gnonto

In today’s football transfer scene, social media has emerged as a key tool.
Indeed, many West Ham and Leeds United supporters will consume a lot of club-related content through X and other platforms such as Facebook.

Those who have been following the January transfer window gossip mill would have noticed West Ham and Leeds have been swapping column inches in recent days.

Leeds might have sent West Ham a cheeky message

West Ham are thought to be looking for a new forward, while Leeds manager Daniel Farke is aggressively attempting to strengthen his defence.

We stated on Hammers News that two journalists, one of whom is the leading source for Leeds news, have indicated David Moyes is interested in Wilfried Gnonto, and Ben Johnson is a target for the Elland Road club.

The Hammers were extensively connected with Leeds ace Gnonto, who can play in all three front positions, during the summer transfer window.

Hands off our Wilfried!

According to reports this week, West Ham are interested in signing Gnonto and want to launch a bid ‘within days’. Said Benrahma is expected to be sold, and Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, and Mohammed Kudus will be out from AFCON due to injuries.
Despite just making seven appearances this season, many Leeds fans do not want to lose Gnonto as they seek promotion back to the Premier League. Rumours have circulated that Gnonto may go AWOL again after stating that he intended to depart in the summer.

Obviously, such behaviour should not be tolerated. However, it would certainly benefit West Ham if the Italian international attempted to force a move away.
Working hard.

However, Leeds may have delivered a sneaky message to West Ham via social media ahead of the ‘imminent’ move for Gnonto.

With speculations circulating on the internet about West Ham‘s interest and alleged imminent transfer, Leeds turned to X to publish a photo of Gnonto in training with a big smile on his face.

The caption read: “Willy working hard!”
Is this Leeds‘ way of dismissing speculations that the small attacker could kick off to force a move to West Ham?

Leeds did something similar when West Ham was linked with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha in the not-so-distant past.

It’s unclear whether they’d be interested in selling. But West Ham has just one way to find out. And if Gnonto does end up at the London Stadium, West Ham may remember this post and create a similar one.
