Leeds loanee may now move in’sensational transfer reversal’ – report

Leeds United: Diego Llorente might potentially move in’sensational transfer reversal’.

Diego Llorente, who is on loan from Leeds United, could leave Roma for PSG this month, according to Il Romanista.

The Italian news source claimed online (16 January) that the French giants are monitoring Llorente’s condition and are seriously considering buying him as soon as this month, in what has been termed as a “sensational transfer reversal.”

Roma is attracted by the money involved and is evaluating the proposition, but they must first find a low-cost replacement for the Spaniard, who has been a crucial player for them this season.

The 30-year-old has started 17 of Roma‘s 20 Serie A matches this season, and the club will decide on his future in the following days.

Confusion

This can only be regarded as an extremely confusing situation for Leeds United fans. According to the article, it is unclear what Leeds’ involvement is in this issue, but if PSG is willing to splash the cash and buy Llorente permanently this month, Daniel Farke can only be happy.

The defender has been on loan in Italy for the past year and was scheduled to return to Elland Road this summer, when he will be 31.

If the Whites can obtain some cash mid-season for the forgotten man, they may be able to reinvest that money in a younger player who can support the club’s pursuit for an immediate return to the Premier League.

It’s unlikely that many West Yorkshire fans will be concerned about Llorente’s permanent departure from the club, and if it happens in January rather than next summer, all the better.
