Spurs approach the team about bringing in a “aerial monster” following Dragusin

There has been contact.

Tottenham have made touch with one club’s in-demand defender after acquiring Radu Dragusin from Genoa, according to sources.

Spurs sign much-needed center defender for Ange.

Spurs ultimately signed Dragusin last week following weeks of discussions, which was really good news for manager Ange Postecoglou.
“Radu was always considered one of the guys we thought would be a good fit for us. “Then it was about gathering as much information as possible about him as a player and as a person,” Postecoglou said of Dragusin.

“We talked to as many people as possible about him, had him scouted again, and I’ve been following him since we featured him. When it came down to the details, I believed he was the greatest option for us.”

The Australian team had a significant shortage of depth at centre-back due to Micky van de Ven’s earlier hamstring injury, which kept him out for months.

Cristian Romero was also absent for extended periods of time due to suspension or personal injury, forcing Postecoglou to occasionally deploy Emerson Royal and Ben Davies as a makeshift tandem.

Radu Dragusin

Dragusin, who made his Spurs debut as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United, comes in to shore up the back line. However, this does not mean that the north Londoners have finished upgrading their defence.

Tottenham are thought to be considering Napoli centre-back Leo Ostigard as a direct replacement for Eric Dier, who moved to Bayern Munich shortly after Dragusin arrived.

Postecoglou appears to be seeking for further defensive additions, either this month or in the summer, and Serie A is becoming a valuable talent pool for Tottenham.

Tottenham approached Bologna about signing Calafiori.

According to the Italian tabloid Il Resto Del Carlino, as reported by Tutto Bologna and Sport Witness, Spurs have approached Bologna about signing centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.

The 21-year-old has impressed in 17 Serie A outings this season, and it is understood the Lilywhites have scouted him on numerous occasions.

Calafiori’s performances have made him a sought-after player, with Juventus, AC Milan, and Napoli all keeping an eye on the defender in anticipation of a potential transfer. Sport Witness has named the Italian one of Thiago Motta’s Bologna stars, following his late arrival at the club last summer for a fee of under £3.5 million.

Ben Mattinson, an aspiring Data Analyst who appears on Breaking The Lines, provided a scouting report on Calafiori, praising his aerial abilities in particular.
