Feyenoord just had a bid rejected for a £16 million player that Leeds United want to sign

Neco Williams, who has struggled to start frequently for Nottingham Forest, has been linked with a move to Leeds United, but Feyenoord’s approach for him was rejected earlier this month.

Williams, 22, joined Forest from Liverpool in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £16 million and excelled in his debut season. The Wales star played 36 league and cup games to help the team avoid relegation.

However, he has made only four Premier League starts this season. Leeds were linked with Williams in the summer, and he is now being linked again. However, Phil Hay believes such a move is highly unlikely.

Indeed, Nuno Espirito Santo, a manager who was connected with Leeds and has since succeeded Steve Cooper at the City Ground, is a huge fan of Williams. He has a contract with Forest until the summer of 2026.

Forest’s determination to preserve the Wales star has been increasingly more clear. According to the Mail, Feyenoord attempted to sign Williams, but Forest declined the offer.

Leeds, of course, needs options on both the left and right sides of the defence, and Williams, who can play on both flanks, would be an ideal signing. With the deadline approaching, it’s like hitting two birds with one stone.

A player who impressed in the Championship while on loan at Fulham, scoring four goals in fourteen games. However, it appears that Forest would not accept any proposals for the Welsh star this month.
