Ramsay of Arsenal to Leeds- Transfer Rumours

According to reports, Jorrel Hato, a defender for Ajax who is about to ink a new agreement with the Dutch powerhouses, has given Arsenal a setback in their pursuit of him.

Hato, who is just 17 years old, has already made 41 appearances for the Amsterdam giants, solidifying his position as a regular starter in the middle of the Ajax defence.

After a terrible start to the new season, Hato has scored one goal and assisted on two more in that time. He has also played a key role in Ajax’s recent comeback, as the Eredivisie powerhouse have won eight and drawn two of their last ten league games.

When the centre defender turns 18 later this year, Arsenal is expected to make a play for him; however, the De Telegraaf reports that Ajax is now close to signing Hato to new terms.

The story states that the Netherlands international has committed his future to Ajax until the summer of 2028, despite the fact that he is now scheduled to become a free agent in 18 months.

Jurrien Timber was acquired by Arsenal and Ajax for £38.5 million during the summer, but the Dutchman was tragically injured in his ACL 50 minutes into his Premier League debut in August.

Steven Bergwijn, Hato’s colleague, is also rumoured to go from the Eredivisie to the English capital this month. West Ham United is reportedly interested in bringing the former Tottenham Hotspur player back to London.

After an unsatisfactory first season in the Premier League, the 26-year-old came home to his native country in 2022. Since then, he has played 21 games for the Ajax and has eight goals and four assists.

The Irons are desperate for offensive reinforcements because they have both Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio in the medical centre and Mohammed Kudus away at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, a recent report has cast doubt on their chances of signing Bergwijn from Ajax.

Football Insider claims that the West Ham leadership is pushing for a deal including the winger, but David Moyes is hesitant to trade for the former Lilywhites attacker.

The team has reportedly had initial discussions about a deal for Bergwijn, but before stepping up their efforts to get the Netherlands international, they would probably need to let go of undesired players.

Bergwijn‘s contract with Ajax expires in the summer of 2027. In the last 18 months, he has played in 66 games for John van ‘t Schip’s team, tallying 24 goals and dishing out 10 assists.

Divock Origi, a striker for Nottingham Forest, is apparently being lined up for a trade to MLS, with talks ranging from prospective Premier League arrivals to possible exits from England’s top division.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Tricky Trees on loan from AC Milan over the summer, has only started two Premier League games in 2023–24 and has not scored or assisted in nine games since then.

Due to a groyne injury, Origi has missed Forest’s past four games; nonetheless, at the end of the current campaign, the Garibaldi still have the option to sign him permanently from Milan.

Unidentified MLS clubs are reportedly closely monitoring Origi’s situation, as his contract with AC Milan does not expire for another two and a half years.

With several thrilling late goals, Origi became a cult icon at Liverpool. However, the Reds let him finish out his contract and sign a free agent contract with Milan at the end of the 2021–2022 campaign.

Speaking of Liverpool, following his fruitless loan to Preston North End, the Reds’ newly recalled right-back Calvin Ramsay is rumoured to have become a target for Leeds United in the winter transfer window.

Due to a knee injury and COVID-19 infection, the 20-year-old played just two games for Ryan Lowe’s team during the first half of the season at Deepdale.

Liverpool invoked their right to recall Ramsay earlier this month, but despite their selection dilemma at full-back, the Reds are poised to loan him out for the remainder of the season.

According to the Daily Mail (via The Mirror), Leeds are considering an approach for Ramsay after seeing their own right-back ranks ravaged during the January transfer window.

The Whites have lost both Luke Ayling and Djed Spence since the market reopened, with the former loaned to Middlesbrough and Spence recalled by Tottenham ahead of a temporary move to Genoa.

Liverpool paid £4 million to sign Ramsay from Aberdeen in 2022, and the Scot made two first-team appearances for Jurgen Klopp during his debut season at Anfield.
