Nottingham Forest have rejected Neco Williams’ request for a loan.
Feyenoord reportedly wants to bring the 22-year-old to the Eredivisie, according to Sky Sports. Leeds has also been mentioned; they are searching for full-backs following the Elland Road loan termination of former Reds favorite Djed Spence.
Neco Williams struggled to get off to a strong start in the season due to injury and insufficient playing time under Steve Cooper. Nevertheless, he appeared in every game Nuno Espirito Santo had scheduled and was awarded a handful of starts in Cooper’s last two games.
Before joining Forest in 2022 for an alleged £17 million, the Wales international, who has primarily played right defender but can also operate on the other flank, spent his formative years in the Liverpool lineup.
He is competing with Gonzalo Montiel for the first choice on the right side of the defense, with two and a half years remaining on his contract.
In the current transfer window, Forest is trying to cut down on players; therefore, it would be surprising if they traded for a player whom Nuno has so far used frequently.
