Tottenham’s stadium increase allows them to surpass Chelsea as the richest club in London.

Tottenham has surpassed Chelsea as London’s richest club, according to the latest Deloitte Football Money League.

Spurs are now the ninth richest club in the world, thanks to the earning power of their new stadium, having generated £549.2 million in income last season.

Spurs generate more than £105 million in matchday revenue each season, and they have also benefited from hosting music concerts, NFL games, and rugby matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Since its opening in 2019, the stadium has hosted performances by Beyoncé, Pink, Lady Gaga, and Guns N’ Roses.

Chelsea came in ninth place, just behind Spurs, with £512.5 million in revenue, while Arsenal came in tenth with £463.1 million.

Arsenal’s income suffered as a result of their absence from the Champions League previous season.

According to Deloitte, Real Madrid has surpassed Manchester City as the richest club in the world. Real achieved a record revenue of £710 million in the 2022-23 season.

City fall to second place despite a revenue of £705.6 million, which was aided by their FA Cup, Premier League, and Champions League treble.

Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Manchester United round out the top five. West Ham are ranked 18th on the Deloitte list.

“A huge reason for Tottenham’s growth is the club being able to fully leverage and monetise the stadium, both in terms of match-day income and commercial activities,” said Sam Boor, a director in Deloitte’s Sport Business Group.
