Lewis Bate insists he has no ill feelings towards Leeds United manager Daniel Farke for his lack of first-team opportunities at Elland Road.
The midfielder rejoined the West Yorkshire club last summer after a successful loan spell at Oxford United.
Bate felt that Farke’s appointment would provide him with an opportunity to impress. However, the 21-year-old has only made one appearance under the German, coming on as a late substitute in their Carabao Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town in August.
Farke permitted Bate to join Milton Keynes Dons in the January transfer window as he sought regular senior games. It is unknown where Bate’s long-term future lies, since his United contract is expected to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Reflecting on his Whites circumstances, Bate told MKCitizen: “It was difficult. The club fell down, they hired a new management, and you never know if they’ll like you, and it turns out he didn’t. But that’s the point; you move on and try to play other games.
