Pundit believes summer transfer target is the ‘ideal Tottenham Hotspur player’

Robbie Earle completely supports Tottenham’s interest in signing Pedro Neto, claiming that the winger would be an ideal fit for Ange Postecoglou’s team.

Neto has been in fantastic form all season, and on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he demonstrated why he is so highly regarded.

The Spurs defence struggled to deal with the 23-year-old’s cunning and technical ability, combined with his athleticism.

The Portugal international set up the match-winner for Gary O’Neil’s side, displaying incredible pace before cutting back and finding Joao Gomes, who blasted the ball home.

It has been widely reported in recent weeks that Tottenham and Arsenal will compete for the Wolves star’s signature next summer (The Sun), with some newspapers estimating that the winger will cost approximately £60 million.

Pedro Neto would be hit at Tottenham!

Earle believes it would be money well spent for Spurs, stating that the former Braga player is exactly the type of player the Lilywhites require. On The Robbies podcast, the pundit stated,

“Pedro Neto, my friend, is an absolute diamond who, put note – and hope Wolves fans don’t hate me for this – would be perfect Tottenham Hotspur player by the way, playing in wide positions on the counter-attack with pace, dropping inside, and scoring goals. “What beautiful player.”

We know Postecoglou like direct, aggressive wingers with pace, and Neto fits the bill wonderfully. However, the 23-year old’s injury record  may be source of concern for Spurs and other possible suitors, especialy if  Wolves want a high amount for him .
