Alasdair Gold has confessed that Ryan Sessegnon may have already played his final game for Tottenham Hotspur following another injury setback.
Sessegnon has struggled with injuries since joining Tottenham in 2019 for £25 million.
The Tottenham player is projected to be out of action for another 12 weeks, making it highly unlikely that he will play again this season.
The former Fulham player turned to social media a few days ago to express that he is upset by the new setback, but committed to put in the effort required to return as soon as possible.
Ryan Sessegnon could be moved on this summer.
Gold has now confirmed that Spurs may be forced to sell the young full-back due to his contract issue.
The journalist told the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast: “Whether it is at Tottenham in the future or not, we’ll see, we don’t know, and obviously there is his contract dilemma, which expires in 2025. We don’t know if or not there is an opportunity to extend that for another year.
“I believe that in an ideal world, a loan next season would be ideal for him, but as we previously stated, if his contract expires in 2025, you can’t really do that unless there is a buyout clause. Again, for a club, coming back from a year of not playing is a difficult opportunity to take.”

Spurs would have preferred to send Sessegnon out on loan in January, allowing him to put in a few good performances and boost his market value before the summer. Tottenham are now almost certain to suffer a significant loss at left-back.
