Dan Plumley, a specialist in football finance, believes Daniel Levy is willing to negotiate a quick sale of Tottenham.
In a recent social media post, Sheikh Abdullah—the Umm Al Quwain emirate’s deputy ruler—was shown with Daniel Levy, the longtime chairman of the Spurs.
The photo, which seemed to have been taken on the club’s property, stoked rumors that the north London club would be the target of a takeover.
Plumley, a financial guru, has now hinted that Tottenham might be for sale.
Plumley underlined that the club is a perfect candidate for a buyer due to its current standing as one of the Premier League’s elite clubs, as well as its strong brand presence and potential financial prospects.
He said, “They absolutely are, so it will be no surprise to see media stories linked to that when people are spotted with relatives people like that,” in an interview with Tottenham News.
“We are aware that Spurs are likely for sale; this isn’t really shocking news, but the team has always floated as a potential target for a major acquisition.
“Daniel Levy has possibly backed out of a few transactions that we believed would cross the finish line. Spurs have the financial potential to benefit from the new stadium, and they have a history of sound financial management.
“People will naturally start rumours and stories around this because it’s an attractive club in London and there are lots of things you could look at as an investment proposition.”
Levy willing to sell to Tottenham
Given that Tottenham was closely linked to an alluring offer from Qatar Sports Investment at the conclusion of the previous year, talk of a takeover there won’t come as a huge surprise.
In a move that will please many of the club’s supporters who are not very like of the way he manages the team, Levy is also rumoured to be open to a deal.
Though Tottenham did not win any awards in 2008, Levy is still deserving of great praise for what is perhaps the finest club stadium in Europe.
In the summer transfer window, he is also anticipated to support Ange Postecoglou with a sizeable transfer budget, as the Australian left a lasting impact during his first season leading the team.
However, if connections to Sheikh Abdullah prove to be fruitful, those transfer payments may wind up being doubled.
In order to go closer to the Midlands team in the race for the top four, Tottenham will be playing in the Premier League again on Sunday when they travel to Aston Villa.
