For the first time this season, Archie Gray was able to share a dressing room with his Leeds United teammates against Millwall.
Gray had only turned 18 a few days ago, and FA safety guidelines require anyone under that age to change separately before and after matches.
It’s incredible to imagine that Gray went without actual matchday experience for nearly eight months and still produced excellent performances on a weekly basis.
That being said, Gray will have already built positive ties with all of his teammates, but he has chosen one person in particular who he can’t wait to see more of every morning after turning 18.
Daniel Farke has quipped that he needs to escape into his office to get away from Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville, but Gray and even Patrick Bamford think a different player is the funniest.
Gray and Bamford think the 21-year-old Leeds midfielder is really amusing.
Gray and Bamford were interviewed on the newest episode of his ‘My Mate’s A Footballer Podcast’ with Joe Wilkinson, and he was asked what it was like to be alone in the dressing room.
Wilkinson quipped that he would love to keep it that way, but Gray underlined that there are certain humorous guys he can’t wait to see more of.
Charlie Cresswell was the player he identified as the funniest, and Bamford concurred, implying that Wilkinson would enjoy some of the things he says on a regular basis.
Gray commented, “There are some funny folks. I couldn’t wait to be with Cressy every morning. Oh my god, you’d love him. “He’s the funniest.”
Bamford then said, “You’d love him, but he’s an idiot. He’s just so funny. I’m trying to think of something that sums him up; remember the parrot joke I told you? “He does this all the time.”
Gray will be happy. Cresswell stayed in Leeds in January.
Cresswell appeared to be on his way out of Leeds in January, with the club receiving several proposals for him, none of which met the valuation.
He had also been excluded from matchday squads due to Farke’s concerns over his attitude, but they appear to have been resolved, since he is now back in the fold.
Despite his limited playing time, Cresswell is definitely attempting to make an effect off the pitch, which is benefiting players such as Gray.
