According to Sky Sports writer Dharmesh Sheth. Liverpool‘s prospective manager target Julian Nagelsmann‘s contract discussions with Germany may “come to a head” before EURO 2024, after the head coach has been linked with a move to Anfield.

The search for a successor to Jurgen Klopp has become a top priority for Liverpool, as the current manager has confirmed his departure at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Despite being a potential candidate, Liverpool has received confirmation that Xabi Alonso will not take up the soon-to-be vacant position.

The Spaniard has declared his wish to stay at Bayer Leverkusen beyond the current season.

Liverpool‘s search for a Jurgen Klopp successor has taken various turns in the last two months.

The Reds are grateful to the German manager, who has won practically everything there is to win at Anfield, including Premier League and Champions League titles.

However, Klopp believes the time has come to stand down at the end of the 2023/24 season, adding that he is ‘running out of energy’ despite his current contract continuing until the summer of 2026.

The search for a successor to Jurgen Klopp has become a key priority for Liverpool, since the current manager has declared his exit at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Despite being a probable possibility, Liverpool has obtained confirmation that Xabi Alonso will not take up the soon-to-be vacated position.

The current German manager scores very high on Liverpool‘s data analysis checks.

Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting CP, was also present.

The journalist emphasises that data will only take contenders so far as the Reds decide who will be the best fit to follow Klopp.

Dharmesh Sheth – Nagelsmann wants his future straightened up before EURO 2024.

Sheth understands that Nagelsmann, praised as “outstanding” by Joshua Kimmich, wants his contract with Germany, which expires after EURO 2024, resolved soon.

The Sky Sports reporter suggests that a new contract with his national team would eliminate him from consideration for Premier League teams. Sheth told GiveMeSport:

Liverpool are aware that Jurgen Klopp is leaving. They must begin their due diligence, which will have already begun with a new boss.

There’s chatter about Julian Nagelsmann. He desires his future.

He wants to settle out his future before the Euros.

It’s a smart move on his part because if he can get a new contract in place before the European Championships begin, it will relieve him of some of the burden in the summer.

Of course, there will be pressure because this is his home event, and he wants to do well.

However, he does not want it to be determined by whether he is offered a new contract as national team manager.

“That may come to a head before the end of the season.

If he signs a new deal in Germany, he may be taken out of consideration by possible Premier League clubs.

He has also been connected with Manchester United.

Liverpool have made Roberto De Zerbi their priority aim.

Following the appointments of Fenway Sports Group’s chief executive of football operations.

Michael Edwards, and Liverpool sporting director, Richard Hughes, the Reds can now focus on finding Jurgen Klopp‘s replacement.

According to rumours, following Xabi Alonso‘s recent omission, Edwards has identified Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi as the Reds’ top managerial candidate.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently told GIVEMESPORT (16th March) that Hughes is a ‘huge fan’ of De Zerbi, who has had a good tenure at the Amex Stadium since joining in September 2022.

After Graham Potter left for Chelsea, the Italian took over as head coach on the south coast.

De Zerbi expanded on his predecessor’s foundations, propelling the Seagulls to sixth place in the 2022/23 season, securing their maiden entry into Europe.

Despite being eliminated in the last 16 by AS Roma, Brighton remains in position to qualify for either the Europa League or the Europa Conference League this season as they strive to become regular rivals in the Premier League‘s top tier.
