Leeds United will be open to offers for star attacker Georginio Rutter if they are not promoted to the Premier League, according to Football Insider.
On the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke reported that Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville will be sought elsewhere if the Whites do not return to the Premier League.
Rutter, 21, has been a standout player for Daniel Farke‘s side this season after a difficult start at Leeds, who suffered a blow in their promotion campaign by drawing 2-2 away at Watford on Friday (March 29).
The Frenchman arrived from Hoffenheim for a reputed club-record £35.5 million last year (2023), but failed to score as the Whites were relegated in the 2023-24 season.
If Leeds are not promoted this season, they may be open to bids from Rutter.
He has regained his best form in the Championship, scoring seven goals and providing 18 assists in 41 games across all competitions this season.
As the season draws to a close, Leeds are embroiled in a four-way race for automatic promotion alongside Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton.
Speaking on Football Insider‘s Inside Track Podcast, O’Rourke stated: “If Leeds do not get promoted, there will be interest in Rutter and other elite players at the club.
“If that’s the case, players like Gnonto and Summerville will be desired elsewhere.
“This promotion race is fraught with uncertainty.
“If they miss out, there will be curiosity, which is the difference when you are not playing at the best level.
“Leeds would find themselves susceptible to offers for their star players if they don’t go up.”
