Leeds are already preparing to sign a new loan player as Farke prepares for the Premier League

According to Graeme Bailey, Leeds United can only bring Kalvin Phillips back to Elland Road during the summer transfer window.

According to HITC Sport (4 April), the Whites are interested in re-signing the England international if they get promoted to the Premier League, although it would be a temporary move.

Phillips‘ contract with Manchester City is still valid for four years, and while the Premier League champions are anxious to sell him this summer, Leeds would only be willing to pay a percentage of his earnings to complete the transfer.

Following a disappointing start to his loan tenure with West Ham united, the midfielder is unlikely to stay at the London Stadium next season, opening the door for other clubs to join.

Will Leeds United re-sign Kalvin Phillips during the summer transfer window?
It is evident that Leeds United would like to sign Phillips this summer, since he would provide Premier League experience to a side that may be starting its first season back in the top division.

When you combine that with the nostalgic value of bringing the Yorkshire Pirlo back to Elland Road, it feels like a great move, but it must be right for the Whites, Phillips, and Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola‘s side will ideally want Phillips to sign a permanent agreement this summer, as another loan move will simply postpone the problem for another season, when they will face the prospect of his exorbitant salary returning to the Etihad.

According to sources, Leeds and Farke are unable to make such a financial commitment, thus City must decide whether another loan swap is worthwhile for them and the midfielder.

Regardless, Leeds‘ interest is evident, and it will be intriguing to watch how, if, and when they move on it this summer.
