On Wednesday night, German team Bayern Munich eliminated Arsenal from the Champions League.
The Gunners were thwarted to a 2-2 draw at The Emirates last week before losing 1-0 to Bayern at The Allianz, dashing their chances of winning the European Cup for the first time ever.
It caps off a disastrous week for Mikel Arteta‘s team, whose Premier League title hopes were dashed when they were defeated 2-0 by Aston Villa last Saturday.
Arsenal‘s next two games will be against Wolves and Chelsea, followed by a trip to arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the month.
In the meantime, it appears that Spurs are looking to sign a former Arsenal forward.
According to Football Insider, the Lilywhites are seriously exploring a move for Bayern Munich sensation Serge Gnabry.
The 28-year-old winger, who can play on either flank, is having a miserable season under Thomas Tuchel, casting doubt on his future.
Gnabry spent five years at Arsenal before joining Werder Bremen in 2016, after only 18 appearances for the Gunners.
He played one season for Bremen before joining Bayern in 2017.
Since arriving to Bavaria, Gnabry has scored 86 goals and assisted 52 times in 235 appearances for the club, earning 14 trophies, including five Bundesliga crowns.
This season, however, the Germany international has fallen out of favour, making only 17 appearances in all competitions.
According to the source, the striker may be permitted to leave Bayern during the forthcoming summer transfer window, with Spurs poised to take advantage.
Gnabry’s current contract will last till the end of the 2025/26 season.
