Tottenham is ‘buying free transfers’ from Premier League teams that are struggling with relegation

Gabriel Osho, a defender for Luton who is out of contract in the summer but has impressed in his Premier League debut, is apparently being considered by Tottenham.

Spurs are considering a free transfer move for Osho, whose contract with Luton expires at the end of the current campaign, according to GiveMeSport. The North London team is eager to bolster its defense, which has been weakened by the absence of Destiny Udogie for the remainder of the season and injuries to Pedro Porro.

Osho might be a more affordable option for Spurs, although Fulham and Aston Villa might present challenges. Spurs are still keeping an eye on Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth, who are both out of contract at the end of the current campaign.

Over the last two transfer windows, Spurs have already spent close to £70 million on defenders Van van Ven and Radu Dragusin. But since there are only these two and Cristian Romero as established center backs, manager Ange Postecoglou has frequently had to use left back Ben Davies in a central role.

Osho returned to action last Saturday following a six-match absence due to a knee injury, but it was not enough to prevent Brentford from celebrating their biggest win since joining the Premier League with a convincing victory at Kenilworth Road, according to the Express.

After joining Luton on a free transfer from Reading in 2020, Osho had stints on loan at Yeovil and Rochdale before joining Luton.

After returning, Osho established himself as a vital member of Rob Edwards’ team, helping them defeat Sunderland in the Championship play-offs and secure promotion.

Osho, who has been a mainstay in Luton’s starting lineup, is fit and in form. He made a spectacular Premier League debut in October, scoring a goal against Arsenal, and he also scored in the thrilling 4–4 draw with Newcastle in February.

Edwards says, “All the best with that boy,” and “On you go!,” expressing his high regard for Osho‘s ability at the highest level. He seems capable, in my opinion.”

He went on to praise Osho‘s qualities, saying, “I honestly believe that he can rise to any challenge since he is not just an exceptionally talented athlete but also a highly bright and motivated individual. At the level he was playing last year, in my opinion, he was on par with a Premier League player.”
