“Not sure”… Kieran McKenna provides the most recent analysis of the Leeds vs. Ipswich race for second place

Ipswich Town’s away point at Hull City, according to Kieran McKenna, may be “really big” for The Tractor Boys in their quest to finish second, ahead of Leeds United.

Few people could have anticipated Leeds United’s 4-0 loss to QPR on Friday. A team with a terrible home record hosting Leeds, who had the third-best away record in the Championship standings heading into the game.

Naturally, Leeds was under pressure at Loftus Road, but Daniel Farke’s team was still expected to return home with three points. Naturally, with Leeds beaten, that never happened.

Leeds lost the chance to move four points clear of Ipswich ahead of their Saturday night trip to Hull. Ipswich still had a game in hand over Leeds and had the opportunity to pass them for second place.

Still, McKenna’s men were left out. This is due to the thrilling 3-3 match between Ipswich and Hull, in which Liam Rosenior’s team scored a third goal late to tie the score. Leeds is still in second place, but only because to goal differential.

Ipswich will move up to second position ahead of the last weekend if they avoid defeat against Coventry City, the FA Cup semi-finalists, on Tuesday night. Following his side’s draw, McKenna spoke.

He mentioned how crucial the point at Hull may be since, just one season after being promoted, they will get 90 points in 2023–24. McKenna, who lost the match, expressed confidence to TWTD.

After Leeds’ loss, Kieran McKenna responds as Ipswich draws.

“We’ll constantly look for the good things. We are aware of the significance, therefore that puts us at 90 points. It’s an amazing accomplishment to score 90 points in two consecutive seasons in two separate divisions; I don’t think anyone has ever done it.

“Based on the last two games, we know what we need. I’m hoping that tonight turns out to be a significant occasion. We scored two excellent goals that were not in the box. We’ll focus on the good things and proceed to Tuesday night.

All eyes will be on Tuesday night when Ipswich travels to Coventry, who enter the game having drawn 0-0 at Ewood Park against Blackburn following the dismissal of former Leeds defender Liam Kitching in the second half.As things stand, Leeds appears unlikely to win the contest for second.

Leeds’ hopes of securing automatic promotion are definitely over, even if Coventry holds Ipswich to a draw. One could even contend that even in the event of a Tuesday night loss, Ipswich would still control it by the weekend.

mostly because Leeds has a tremendously difficult game against Southampton at Elland Road. Nevertheless, Huddersfield, who are obviously virtually relegated, will play Ipswich. Three goals off target, but up on goal differential.

Leeds needs Coventry to do The Whites a courtesy and defeat Ipswich for just the seventh time in the Championship. If anything more, you may assume that Leeds and Farke will not be able to finish in the top two.
