Rembert Vromant, Cercle Brugge’s technical director, has listed Tottenham as one of the clubs that have been monitoring their players ahead of the summer transfer season.
When asked about how sought-after certain of the Belgian club’s players are, Vromant mentioned winger Alan Minda, centre-back Felipe Augusto, and striker Kevin Denkey as three players on the radar of several elite teams.
Interestingly, Tottenham have been connected with a transfer for Denkey, with Foot Mercato claiming at the beginning of March that the Lilywhites are keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old’s development.
The centre-forward is currently leading the Belgian goal scoring charts this season, with 23 goals from 28 league games, and Ange Postecoglou‘s side has been linked with a summer move for the player.
Tottenham is scouting Cercle Brugge players.
Vromant has now stated that Tottenham are one of the teams that have sent personnel to the Jan Breydel Stadium in recent weeks.
The Cercle Brugge director told Het Laatste Nieuws (via Sport Witness): “Alan Minda and Felipe Augusto have a lot of potential. I believe our centre defenders should be regarded more. We are considering Daland’s departure this summer. And then there’s Kevin Denkey. Based on the calls I receive for him, I believe he is an excellent marketer.
“We are now at the point where files from the chief scout for all teams arrive on the desk of the technical director. The decision has been made: who do we choose? Teams in England, Germany, and France have expressed interest in Denkey.
“Listen, an average of sixteen scouts attend every home match. This season, I’ve seen the scouts’ performance improve. Clubs include Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Lens, Lille, Salzburg, Leverkusen, Ajax, and Aston Villa. They don’t just come for our opponent, believe me. We bring some really fascinating players. “A young, athletic profile with a positive mindset.”
Johan Lange and Fabio Paratici’s scouting network will most likely be looking at dozens of players across Europe. So just because Tottenham is monitoring Denkey’s progress does not guarantee a move for the striker.
