Ange Postecoglou has just made a decision about Radu Dragusin’s Tottenham future after only four games.

Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur’s manager, has made up his mind about Radu Dragusin’s future with the club.

Spurs demonstrated their capabilities in the start of the 2023/24 season, but as the season progressed, it became evident that they lacked the personnel to compete with the elite clubs.

As a result, Tottenham are likely to be quite active during the summer transfer window, with certain players potentially leaving.

Dragusin has been linked with a move away from Tottenham, despite only signing in January.

What Ange Postecoglou decided to do with Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin

Tottenham signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa for £26.7 million in January 2024 (Sky Sports).

Spurs were competing with German heavyweights Bayern Munich for the Romanian’s signature. At one point, it appeared that he was on his way to the Bundesliga.

However, Daniel Levy completed the task in the end, and Dragusin arrived with a lot of hype.

The 22-year-old is an excellent defender. He has enormous potential, but he was always going to behind Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in the pecking order.

That became obvious as the season progressed, as Ange Postecoglou gave Dragusin only four starts.

The defender’s agent was plainly upset, so he went public with some tactical suggestions to Postecoglou on how to integrate Dragusin in the team.

That sparked speculation that Tottenham could trade Dragusin this summer, but TeamTalk has since revealed that Postecoglou has a completely different perspective.

According to the article, Tottenham’s manager regards Dragusin as a ‘essential element of the group going forward and a player who will soon find his feet in north London and the Premier League‘.

It has also been alleged that Postecoglou is ‘determined’ to keep Dragusin and has no intention of selling him this summer.

Radu Dragusin has a bright outlook.

However, Tottenham’s first-choice center-backs, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, will require significant changes.

That means Radu Dragusin will only be a backup for Spurs in the Premier League next season.

That might be frustrating for the Romanian and his agent, who has been very public about his client since his major move to Tottenham in January.

However, one major advantage for Dragusin is that Spurs will play in the Europa League next season, where the competition will be lower than in the Premier League, particularly in the early stages.

Postecoglou will be able to rotate his team there, and we’re confident Dragusin will start many more games than he did in 2023/24.
