A’special’ Tottenham Hotspur loan player has quietly impressed and could be ready to join Ange Postecoglou’s first team.
Spurs have a long history of developing players from their academy, with Harry Kane being a prime example.
Kane was loaned out several times during his growth, with varied degrees of success, but it finally transformed him into one of the best centre-forwards England has ever produced.
However, it appears that one Tottenham Hotspur teenager is on a similar journey and has recently returned from a successful loan period abroad.
Troy Parrot impresses on loan.
Troy Parrott was once seen as Tottenham’s next big thing, but his career hasn’t quite gone as planned. He’s been sent out to the lower leagues several times and has yet to fully realise his potential in any of them, until now.
Last season, the 22-year-old played on loan at Eredivisie club Excelsior, where he had a successful season. Parrott scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 22 starts, including a hat-trick to keep his team in the Eredivisie.
Troy Parrott is close to Ange Postecoglou’s first-team.
While Parrott isn’t yet ready to return to Postecolgou’s first squad, he’s getting close, and one more productive loan spell to a lower-league Premier League side might put him back in contention.
For a time, it appeared like his Spurs career was dead, but it has now been reborn, drawing parallels to Kane’s path.
If he can have half Kane’s career, Spurs will have a fantastic number nine for the next decade.
The 2002-born striker has a telling summer ahead of him.
