Tottenham want an £80 million star who is one of the ‘top two’ in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bolster their squad this summer following a tumultuous Premier League season under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs finished fifth in the league, securing a spot in next season’s Europa League, but they had to wait until the final matchday to confirm.

Tottenham were impressive early in the season and appeared to be dark horses for the title heading into Christmas.

Although they were unable to retain the title, they remained in the top four until mid-April, when their form failed them.

Nonetheless, Postecoglou has laid solid groundwork, and there is plenty of room for growth in the coming term.

Many great players have been connected with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks, including one who is regarded as one of the Premier League’s best talents.

The guy in question is Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, and CaughtOffside has supplied an update on his future amid Spurs speculation.

What has been said about Spurs and Jarrad Branthwaite?

Tottenham are among several Premier League clubs that admire the 21-year-old, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, according to the outlet.

Everton are preparing to sell Branthwaite this summer due to financial uncertainties at Goodison Park, according to the report.

However, the Toffees are alleged to have set an £80 million price tag for the England Under-21 international, which has turned off potential suitors.

What has been said about Tottenham’s target, Jarrad Branthwaite?

Branthwaite has been fantastic for Everton this season, forming a good partnership with James Tarkowski at the heart of the Blues’ defence.

“This guy is a superstar,” Jamie Carragher said during Monday Night Football earlier this year.

“For a centre-back to control that with his right foot, he is a two-footed player, the control with the right foot being a delicate touch with players around him and then to finish with the left just highlights again how strong Everton are from set pieces.”

Meanwhile, Vitaliy Mykolenko, a Blues teammate, recently informed Tribuna that “if you put our Branthwaite and Zabarnyi in a pair, they can be signed for 15 years without any transfers to the club.”

“One is left, central, and the second is right; there is speed and everything. Either one or both are really calm.

“I’m really pleased with our central defender. He’s already scored three times this season. “These are the top two for me.”

We’ve all seen what Branthwaite can do in the Premier League, and he’d be an excellent addition for Spurs.

However, central defence may not be a priority for Tottenham, so we’ll have to see how much they’re willing to spend on the Everton star.
