Tottenham is on the verge of signing a Premier League player for less than expected

Brentford appears to be willing to sell Ivan Toney for under £40 million this summer, while Tottenham Hotspur is eager to complete the move.

You’re familiar with Spurs‘ constant search for new talent. This summer, they’re looking to sign a new number 9 striker, and Toney’s name is high on their wishlist.
There had previously been speculation that Toney might be sold for a stunning £60 million, which had everyone scratching their heads. But hold on to your hats, guys, for the newest word is that Brentford has lowered its demands. They are now looking at a more modest £30-40 million price range.

Toney‘s had a hard patch recently, serving a suspension for part of the season and scoring only four goals in his last 17 appearances. That has undoubtedly reduced his value. Even Arsenal, who had previously shown interest in him, appear to have lost it. So now it’s primarily a two-horse contest between Tottenham and Manchester United.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham is preparing to sign Toney for £40 million, and Brentford does not appear to be interested in throwing a spanner in the works.

Tottenham are close to signing a Premier League player for a lower price than thought.
Pete O’Rourke has reportedly revealed Brentford’s “surprise” price tag. Forty million appears to be the magic price that may entice Toney away from the Bees, though Brentford isn’t exactly thrilled about it.
But, hey, Toney isn’t bad at putting balls in the net. He’s been described as a “ready-made goalscorer,” and if Spurs can sign him, he might make an immediate impact in North London.

With his contract expiring in 2025, the stars appear to be aligning for a move, and Brentford appears to be ready to seize the opportunity.

Some believe Toney is as near to a sure bet as they come in the striker department. He won’t break the bank, he knows how to score in the Premier League, and he’s also a homegrown player. Sounds like a win-win to me, and I’m sure he’d give our team a big lift.
