Leeds United has apparently received an offer from a Premier League team, and if accepted, the player in question would be the club’s sixth most expensive transfer in its history.
The 49ers have previously stated that they will have to sell a few players this summer in order to generate revenue at Elland Road and return some of the £190 million owing in player transfers to other clubs.
Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, Ilia Gruev, Illan Meslier, Junior Firpo, Pascal Struijk, and others have all been linked with Leeds in the last year, as has Italy winger Willy Gnonto.
The pocket-sized winger failed to live up to his initial hype while shining in the Premier League in 2023-24, starting few games in the first half of the season under manager Daniel Farke.

The 20-year-old is set to quit Elland Road in the coming weeks or months. Leeds delayed his departure last summer when he demanded a transfer and refused to play three games for the club in August.
But the potential is there, and Nottingham Forest are said to have made a £16.9 million bid to recruit the former Inter Milan and Zurich winger. Leeds are yet to decide whether to accept the offer.
However, a judgement based on the findings is expected in the following days. If Leeds accept, which could be in their best interests, Gnonto will become the sixth most expensive transaction in the Yorkshire club’s history.

Gnonto‘s cost of £16.9 million is somewhat higher than the £15 million paid by Burnley for Chris Wood and the £12 million paid by Atletico Madrid to Leeds for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in 1999-2000.
Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra both left for Bournemouth in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Bournemouth paid £20 million for Colombian winger Sinisterra, while the USA skipper Adams reportedly cost £23 million.
