UCL finalists seek a 28-year-old Tottenham player

Borussia Dortmund are considering signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as an alternative to Pascal Gross, who is set to depart Tottenham.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Borussia Dortmund has added Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to their list of midfield prospects. The UCL finalists are looking to strengthen their central areas, and the 28-year-old Tottenham midfielder is likely to be a top option if they fail to sign Brighton’s Pascal Gross.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will ponder on Denmark’s departure from the Euros at the hands of Germany before weighing his options for the future. The Danish midfielder wants to leave Tottenham this summer after being demoted in his role under Ange Postecoglou last season.

The 28-year-old Tottenham player was linked with a move last summer and then again in January, but Spurs retained his services, particularly during the winter window. They may have to sell him during this window because the player wants to reestablish himself as a prominent player once more.

Atletico Madrid and Lyon were considered strong contenders for the player, and now Borussia Dortmund has him on their midfield shortlist. The UCL finalists are looking for someone in the middle zones and see Hojbjerg as a strong alternative to German international and Brighton standout Pascal Gross.

Hojbjerg may be a strong choice for them to explore, since the midfielder is at the peak of his powers and, despite fewer starts last season, was a steady presence for Postecoglou. However, given the fact that several other teams are interested in signing the 28-year-old Tottenham player, Dortmund may need to make a strong offer.

Hojbjerg has large suitors.
Fulham are interested in Hojbjerg and likely provide him the best chance to stay in the Premier League and London. However, after several years in England, the midfielder may explore transferring abroad, with AC Milan among the clubs interested.

Galatasaray is also an option, with the Turkish club pursuing him since January, albeit they may lose out to some of their more famed European counterparts. Overall, Hojbjerg will have plenty of options heading into the summer, as he appears destined to leave Tottenham at any costs.
