Micah Richards believes a player who left Tottenham Hotspur may come back following the horrific Euro 2024 display

Several players from Tottenham Hotspur suffered as a result of their subpar finish to the 2023–24 Premier League season.

It was undoubtedly unexpected because, under new manager Ange Postecoglou, the London club took off like a house on fire.

In addition to playing the finest football in the nation after ten Premier League games, Spurs also led the league standings.

Given that many had predicted the club would struggle after Harry Kane moved for Bayern Munich, it was even better. As the just ended campaign progressed, even Paul Merson felt compelled to retract his statements and had second thoughts about Tottenham.

They cannot, however, dispute how poorly they concluded the season, missing out on Champions League football, and placing fifth.

That is why Tottenham did not have a representative in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man England roster, and James Maddison was dropped from the Euro 2024 squad.

But he didn’t miss much since, while the Three Lions did make it to the final, they were utterly awful during the summer.

England were justifiably defeated in the final by Spain, and their star player, captain and main goalscorer, Harry Kane, was substituted after an hour.

Harry Kane

Throughout the entire competition, the Munich attacker put on a terrifying display, seeming as though he was dealing with an ailment and giving off a lost impression.

Micah Richards suggested that Gary Lineker, 30, “may come back” to the Premier League. Lineker defended the 30-year-old’s performances, telling The Rest is Football…

Harry Kane is returning to the Premier League.

“Normally his thinking is a step ahead,” Richards stated, to which Lineker replied, “It still is. He is also a fantastic finisher, so you don’t lose.”

Lineker went on to say that Kane is “the all-time leading goalscorer for England” and that he would have easily smashed Alan Shearer’s record if he had stayed in the Premier League. Richards said, “He might come back.” Richards then asked, “Alan, how many goals do you have?” The Newcastle great responded by cursing and yelling ‘loads’.

Gareth Southgate’s style destroyed Harry Kane.

Class is permanent, and Kane should be trusted to lead England’s line ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Gareth Southgate has resigned as England’s manager, and Kane must now hope that an attacking manager takes over.

These defensive-minded managers are hurting him because Kane’s international career will end sooner than he believes if the FA hires another coach of the same caliber.

Everyone will see those goals come in if he has a coach that drives the team up the pitch rather than forcing him to defend on the edge of his own box.
