Nottingham Forest have a potential injury issue after their third pre-season friendly.
Elliot Anderson was pulled off in the closing few minutes of the first half of the Reds’ match against Millwall at the Pinatar Arena in Spain. He had fallen following a poor challenge and required care on the pitch.
The midfielder appeared to be in distress as he was assisted off. He was substituted by Callum Hudson-Odoi with only a few minutes remaining until the break.
The Reds will be praying for nothing severe with their summer addition. Anderson had done well in the friendlies so far.
The 21-year-old left Newcastle United earlier this month. He’d signed a five-year contract with City Ground.
Anderson had been named to the Forest XI for the opening half of their friendly against Millwall. And he helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s team achieve a strong start.
Looking to build on the success of their previous two friendly, the Reds generated a couple enticing opportunities early on. Anderson had a shot blocked, and Chris Wood headed wide. However, the breakthrough came quickly. And it did so with style. With 19 minutes gone, Wood finished after Nicolas Dominguez cushioned the ball into his path from Morgan Gibbs-White’s cross into the area.
Forest proceeded to make some good moves in the first half. The only downside of the first 45 minutes was Anderson being forced off following a tackle, as they headed into the break 1-0 ahead.
