This time, Ange Postecoglou was supposed to be prioritizing minutes for academy players on Tottenham’s pre-season tour, as well as some younger periphery players like Oliver Skipp and Djed Spence.

This would allow Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to give his more experienced players more than 45 minutes in Saturday’s preseason friendly against Vissel Kobe.

Tottenham win 5-2 thanks to a brace from Mikey Moore.

According to Lilywhite Rose, Tottenham won the behind-closed-doors friendly 5-2 today, with Mikey Moore, Will Lankshear, and Alejo Veliz scoring for the Lilywhites. The full lineup is still to be revealed, but the goalscorers imply that Alasdair Gold was correct in his assessment of Postecoglou’s use of youth stars today.

Spurs Website Opinion:

I understand if Will Lankshear, like a number of other Tottenham academy youngsters, goes out on loan this summer.

However, Mikey Moore should be kept in the first squad and given as many minutes as possible this season, like Pep Guardiola did with a youthful Phil Foden. This kid has a distinct look!
