As Spurs try to get back on track; Kulusevski observes changes in Postecoglou’s training regimen.

Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff have made changes in preparation for the upcoming season, according to Dejan Kulusevski, who also insisted that he and his colleagues are focusing on the major goal.

Tottenham wants to get better this year.

Postecoglou, in contrast to his predecessors, has not shied away from acknowledging Tottenham’s aspirations and has made it clear that he expects his team to contend for the championship.

Kulusevski, who emphasized that Spurs must find a way to contend all the way to the finish instead of disintegrating like they did in the final stages of the previous season, echoes that attitude.

“I think we showed glimpses of that last year, but we have to do it for one whole year, I think that’s maybe the harder part of it, to not play well for maybe a month and then you go down a little bit,” he said to Football.London. “[This club] has to be, has to be [challenging at the top]…”

Postecoglou modifies the Spurs’ training regimen.

The Swede responded, “I noticed that it’s much more about how we’re playing, and every exercise has been thinking a lot of making the players understand how we want to play,” when asked to elaborate on the specific differences he had observed.

“Perhaps last year was more about simply playing, you know, having fun and getting things done, but this year is much more…they’ve been thinking a lot about training sessions and trying to make sure everyone on the team knows what they expect from them.”

The former Juventus player said, “A little bit, of course, because you have to do what the manager wants, because the team has a clear path in how they want to play,” in response to the question of whether he needed to change his strategy…”

Throughout the preseason, Kulusevski has demonstrated his adaptability.

On Saturday, he made an impression playing as a false nine for Tottenham against Vissel Kobe.

“I think last year was the first time I played as a number 10 in the Premier League, so people could see what I can do from that position,” he stated in reference to his center playing role. I’ve been playing in the middle of training sessions and at the start of games this next season…”

Ange’s style does not really suit Kulusevski for the wide position, but the Spurs manager clearly enjoys the adaptability and attitude of the Swede, which is why he is hesitant to let him go.
