Brendan Rodgers believes he can finally see what he wants for Celtic.
The Parkhead manager acknowledges that he’s thrilled with his team’s development. With an undefeated record and some brilliant offensive play, Celtic , has had a thrilling start to the season. When Rodgers initially returned to the team at the start of the previous campaign, he gave the team an overview of his plans.
The troops worked their way through the ranks in the later stages of the fight, but it takes time to win a Double. Just over a year into the second reign, things are picking up even more speed. Rodgers gave the following explanation: “From an attacking standpoint, we’re playing now how I’d want us to be.” I believe that when I initially joined the team, I told them that over the next three years, we would become a powerful, quick-thinking, unpredictable team. And that’s what I’m beginning to observe among the team members now.
“That vision was present the moment I walked through the door.” Players must, however, become used to your working style, feel at ease, and understand the information. Then, you need skilled players on hand to carry it out. However, I believe that throughout the second half of the previous season, from preseason to the present, we are witnessing a true clarity in our working methods, a truly cohesive team and group of players, and the ultimate product in your level of performance on the field.”
Naturally, my role is to push for even more, and we will keep doing that, but this group is also like that.Players still have a lot to learn and grow into, but they are proving every day that they are capable of doing so. We can yet improve in a few areas, though. To be honest, I still wish we were more ruthless.
“I believe that after working with the team for that length of time in little over a year, there is definitely more trust between the two of them. Simply said, we know where each other is and have established those relationships. The guys are aware of my development, coaching, and management style. They are at ease with it, but they are also aware of the expectations and demands we have for the club’s players.”
“So, compared to this time last year, our current emotional state is like night and day. It has always been a pleasure to collaborate with this crew. Coming here and observing their mindset, attitude, and energy has been a pleasure.”
“However, I believe that over the past year, we have been able to strengthen that even more and practice more scenarios, which puts us in a really, really good place. Now, we just need to incorporate the new players into that and give them the opportunity to forge these connections as well.”
Speaking to Celtic TV, Rodgers expressed his satisfaction with the squad’s improvement from their previous match, saying, “That is always my thinking for our development and improvement as a team.” Celtic had defeated Rangers handily before the international break.
The goals were scored by Callum McGregor, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Daizen Maeda. “His [Maeda’s] big superpower is his running, his athleticism, and his ability to press,” the boss declared. He is not alone, but it adds a remarkable honesty to the squad. It is required of everybody. He creates a high standard; few can perform as well as he can, and he’s developing a good goal-scoring habit with the ball. However, you can only achieve that by entering the appropriate spaces. Kyogo gives everything he does his all. He presses with all of his might, frightening goalies and defenders with the pace of his press.
