Wilfried Gnonto might leave Leeds United on loan late in the transfer window; with Everton and Aston Villa interested in signing him.

Leeds United are still considering selling Wilfried Gnonto this summer, but he could move on loan before the end of the season, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Italia journalist says on his personal Twitter account (10 August) that the Whites are still not interested in selling despite the player’s refusal to play for the club because he wants to leave.

However, they may be willing to consider a loan exit later in the window, with Aston Villa and Everton among the most interested parties.

“At the moment, Leeds United is not interested in selling Gnonto,” he wrote.

“A loan remains a possibility in the final days of the market (Aston Villa and Everton are interested).”

Shocker

Leeds have only one loan space left to use to allow players depart this summer, and if we’ve saved it for Gnonto, we’re insane.

He is definitely our greatest attacking player at the club, and with no release clause in his contract, his future is entirely in our control.

The club does not want to sell him, but we can simply demand a higher sum, and if someone pays it, we will have enough money to locate a replacement.

A loan appears to be an easy way out for the player and clubs interested in him, while leaving us short on quality and cash to find a replacement in a summer where our moves must be right on if we are to reclaim our place in the Premier League.

This is a nightmare for our fans and Daniel Farke right now, and unless we spend the next few weeks to replace him before letting him go, it doesn’t look good.
