Luis Sinisterra, a forward for Leeds United, is the newest player to be sidelined at Elland Road, according to Daniel Farke.
After Wednesday, August 9,’s 2-1 win against Shrewsbury at Elland Road in the EFL Cup, the German announced the Colombian star had a knee injury.
Despite this, Sinisterra was put in danger in the final 15 minutes and came close to scoring when he blazed over the top after being put through on goal.
Following the game, Farke highlighted the most recent injury setback for his team in what may turn out to be more terrible news when speaking live to LUTV with Bryn Law and Tony Dorigo.
He said, “Luis Sinisterra on the bench despite a knock to his knee.
“I didn’t want to risk him, but I have a feeling that he should have scored in the last 10 to 15 minutes when we really needed him on the pitch.
“Right now, it’s complicated.”
Crushing.
With terrible news seemingly following bad news with each passing hour, Farke must be physically tearing out his hair at Elland Road right now.
Liam Cooper, Junior Firpo, and Crysencio Summerville are all out for at least three weeks and possibly longer, it was revealed at the beginning of the week.
Along with players like Tyler Adams and Wilfried Gnonto who appear to be leaving the club very soon, there are also players like Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford, Georginio Rutter, and others who have left the club recently.
Sinisterra is by no means out of the running, but playing while injured will just enhance the likelihood that he will be out permanently at a time when we cannot afford it.
Since joining last summer, the South American has not exactly been injury-free, so Farke may find it more difficult to risk him each week and may need to find another option.
Definitely keep an eye on this one.
