Amid a worrying decline, Pep Guardiola discloses what would force him to leave his position at Manchester City, but the struggling manager offers a defiant message ahead of the derby with United

Pep Guardiola has threatened to resign from Manchester City within a month if he is unable to improve the team’s dismal performance.

After losing badly to Juventus 2-0 in the middle of the week, City enters Sunday’s Manchester derby with only one victory in ten games and faces the possibility of an early Champions League exit.

In his managerial career, he has never had to deal with a crisis of this kind, and City has fallen to fifth place in the Premier League, behind Nottingham Forest.

Test matches against United, Aston Villa, Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Salford City, and Brentford are scheduled for the upcoming month.

“Pep, you have to think about it,” is something I would say if I lost the team or thought they weren’t running. I’m not followed by them.

“We wouldn’t be here for a minute in that moment.” But I’m there now more than ever. That is beyond question.

“The most significant accomplishment has already been completed.” The finest has been us.

But now that I think about it, I realize how hard what we did was, and when we return, it will be obvious that we will remember those moments. Since we desire it, we do it, but we are unable to.

Guardiola has been under a lot of criticism lately, and he even went seven games without a victory, which was the worst run of his storied managerial career.

With goals from Jeremy Doku, Kevin De Bruyne, and Bernardo Silva, they crushed Nottingham Forest 3-0 earlier this month to snap that skid.

Guardiola has been under a lot of stress lately after hurting himself during City’s 3-3 Champions League defeat with Feyenoord, where they wasted a 3-0 lead in the closing minutes.

After finishing nine points ahead of Liverpool and defeating Arsenal by two points in the previous season to win the title for the fourth time in a row, City now trails Arne Slot’s pacesetters by the same amount.

He had multiple red markings on his head and a serious cut on his nose when he made an appearance at a press conference after the game.
“Yes,” he responded, “it’s from my fingernail.” “During the game, I cut myself with my fingernail.” I’d like to harm myself.
Guardiola later expressed regret for the remark, which some believed to be a glib discussion about self-harm.

“At the conclusion of a press conference last night, I was taken aback by a question regarding a scratch that had appeared on my face and explained that a sharp fingernail had accidentally caused this,” Guardiola wrote.

“My response was not meant to minimize the grave problem of self-harm in any way.”
