Leeds United’s transfer chase takes a £12.5 million twist as the target is now expected to leave permanently in January

A player associated with Leeds United ahead of the January transfer window is expected to leave the club in a permanent deal during the winter season.

Leeds United has a few names on their transfer radar right now, particularly attacking players, with Daniel Farke reportedly looking to reinforce his frontline in the New Year.

Farke believes Leeds United may be quiet in January. However, names like as James McAtee of Manchester City have been connected with Leeds United ahead of January.

The teenage attacker is out of favour at the Etihad, and there is mounting suspicion that he could be moved on during the January transfer window, which opens in little over a week.

Aston Villa‘s Louie Barry has also been linked with Leeds. The former Barcelona star has just been recalled from Stockport County, where he leads the League One scoring charts with 14 goals this season.

Barry, 21, is the subject of significant transfer speculation ahead of January, with Middlesbrough said to be leading the fight for his signing as things stand.

Carlton Palmer backs Leeds United target Louie Barry’s January move.

Carlton Palmer, a pundit and former England midfielder, spoke with Football League World about Barry’s current situation at Villa Park.

Palmer believes Barry may even leave Villa permanently in the new year.

It was earlier believed that clubs would have to spend £12.5 million to secure Barry’s permanent transfer from Aston Villa.

Palmer said: “It’s very upsetting for Stockport County at the moment, but he’s an Aston Villa player; they want to develop him, and there may be a contract on the table to buy him in the January transfer window if they don’t view him as a future first-team player.

“Maybe he’ll be sold during the January transfer window.” It is yet uncertain if he will be loaned out, incorporated into the first team, or sold.

Leeds United could lose the Louie Barry race to a promotion rival.

Barry seemed to have put half of the championship on alert. Now that he has been recalled by Villa, it appears that he will be moving in January.

However, Leeds United may still lose the race to Sheffield United, who are also interested in Barry, and if the Blades win, Leeds’ promotion aspirations may suffer significantly.

Barry may appreciate the opportunity to join Leeds United or Sheffield United, and if one wins the race, it might offer them an advantage in the second part of the season.

Whether Leeds have £12.5 million to invest in January, and whether they’d contemplate Barry on a permanent basis considering his lack of Championship experience, remains to be seen.
