Eric Dier has taken to Instagram to express his disappointment at being left out of Tottenham Hotspur’s matchday squad today.
Tottenham made the short journey across London to Brentford for Ange Postecoglou‘s first game in charge.
Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele, and Djed Spence were among the first-team players left out of the Australian manager’s matchday roster.
But Dier‘s absence surprised many, especially after he played the whole 90 minutes against Barcelona earlier this week.
And, before of today’s game, the 29-year-old took to social media to show his support for his colleagues.
Dier takes to Instagram after being left out of the Tottenham Hotspur team.
On his Instagram account, Dier posted a photo of Tottenham’s starting lineup with the message, “Let’s go boys.”
Dier was the subject of considerable curiosity on social media yesterday after fans noted that there was no mention of Tottenham in his Instagram bio.
It was also observed that he does not follow the Spurs on social media. But it’s not clear if he ever did.
The Englishman played under Postecoglou during pre-season, so his absence from today’s matchday squad came as a surprise.
It is unknown whether the centre-back has been injured or has just missed out owing to the acquisition of Micky van de Ven, who made his debut against Brentford today.
