Si Ferry teases a “surprise” Rangers transfer rumor, leaving Gordon Dalziel startled.

When Si Ferry brought up the transfer rumor, Gordon Dalziel was taken aback by the notion that Chelsea might be interested in Rangers full-back Jefte.

Although Philippe Clement thinks it is too soon for Jefte to leave Ibrox, The Scottish Sun [27 January] reports that the Gers are preparing for a proposal from the Premier League powerhouses.

After joining Light Blue last summer, the 21-year-old has only been playing for a few months and has made just 35 appearances, yet Chelsea is still being connected to the defender.

Ferry posed the following question on the Open Goal show [January 30]: “Will Jefte visit Chelsea?

Dalziel retorted: “That’s quite a yell.

We’ll include the fact that he has been the most unexpected gift for me. He is in a separate class going ahead.

He has been critical of the defensive side, don’t get me wrong, but Jefte? Chelsea? What a shout.

Will Rangers sell Jefte to Chelsea already?
Although Jefte‘s potential transfer to Chelsea was unexpected, his astute performances and the fluid play at Stamford Bridge suggested that he would fit right in.

The Brazilian has shown in his brief time at Ibrox that he has a good eye for an assist, and the Light Blues, who are currently having financial difficulties, would receive a mouth-watering payout.
Given that the Gers are genuinely unable to turn a profit on the players they have acquired in recent seasons, Patrick Stewart urgently has to alter the club’s present player transfer model.

The Light Blues’ inability to sell Cyriel Dessers for anything above the amount they paid Cremonense for him in July 2023 is the ideal illustration of it.

Given how rapidly he has established himself as a favorite at Ibrox, the supporters would find it difficult to accept the transfer, but the possible price tag would be too high to refuse now or in the summer.

According to Ally McCoist, the manager of Union St. Gilloise will be “absolutely livid” following the events at Ibrox.
