Rangers urgently need to find a new left-back since the summer is putting pressure on the pair.

Rangers should be well on their way to finding a new left-back, as Besiktas has shown a consistent interest in Ridvan Yilmaz.

The Turkish Super Lig’s attempts to bring the 23-year-old back to his native country have so far failed, and the Gers are steadfast in their belief that he is worth £4.1 million.
Although Jefte, who was unexpectedly linked to Chelsea late in the window (Chris Jack, 28 January), is quite likely to stay given that he only joined last summer, the Turkish transfer window is still open until February 11th, which increases the chance of losing Yilmaz at Ibrox.

Yilmaz and Jefte both seem content on Philippe Clement’s team, but they will undoubtedly be enticed by the teams they are being rumored to join for a variety of reasons.

Nils Koppen must have a list of viable left-back targets set up and prepared to attack if the two decide to depart in the summer.
Yilmaz and Jefte could potentially leave the Rangers.
Yilmaz’s immediate future is still uncertain, but Rangers are standing firm, and Jefte is now almost certain to stay in Govan until the end of the season at the latest.

Although Rangers have done a good job of retaining their finest players in the most recent transfer window, the brutality of the footballing food chain may force surgery into the squad this summer.

Jefte has demonstrated exceptional skills moving forward down the left-hand side and appears to be a very coachable athlete of a player, albeit occasionally struggling defensively.
Yilmaz is a more seasoned player and an international, which increases his value at Ibrox as a club trump card. They can’t afford to lose him, and if he departed for Besiktas in the next seven days, they wouldn’t be able to replace him anyway.

Robbie Fraser, a third-choice out-and-out left-back, has moved on loan to Livingston, and it would be a significant improvement if he were given the position on a regular basis for the upcoming campaign.

In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson believes the Light Blues will give another key defender in Clement‘s squad a huge new contract.
