West Ham United transfer rumor surfaces as a goodwill gesture, with Jesse Lingard training at Rush Green.

According to Jordan Davies, West Ham has brought in Jesse Lingard to train at Rush Green as a gesture of goodwill after he played on loan for them two seasons ago.

On Monday (14 August), a Sun journalist stated on Twitter that the Hammers are interested in signing the 30-year-old, who won Premier League Player of the Month in April 2021 while at the London Stadium. The major reason he trains is to stay sharp as he hunts for a new team this summer.”As others have stated, Jesse Lingard is training with the WHUFC squad as well as undergoing individual fitness testing,” Davies posted on Twitter. As he searches for his next club, this is seen as a gesture of goodwill. Signing is unlikely, but not out of the question.

Lingard is a free agent, and the Hammers have struggled to close deals this summer. They’ve made two signings, and Harry Maguire appeared to be the third, but that again does not appear to be happening as rapidly as it should. There are worries about that as well, and with Lingard available, it makes sense to go out and sign him, even if he’s only a backup option.David Moyes, who worked with him on loan in 2021/22 and saw him play some of his finest games under him, already admires him much. There aren’t many clubs lining up to sign him, so he can’t command expensive pay.He might still contribute off the bench for the Hammers, and with no transfer fee, this is not a signing that many fans would oppose.

In other West Ham news, the club has begun advanced conversations with a Premier League player who appears to be open to leave his club this summer.
